Howl-a-Day Inn.com Meet Our Staff

"I am the owner of the Howl-a-Day Inn. Being a dog lover all of my life, I knew I wanted to work with dogs since I was a little girl. After 30 years of factory work, I decided to make that change. I started to study with Puppy Camp Day Care in Cincinnatti, Ohio.

My best friend Valeri Beltz and I started to work on the plans. Her baby Lexi went to Puppy Camp. Val came up with the name Howl-a-Day Inn. Unfortunately, within days Val was killed at the age of 38 in a terrible auto accident on April 26, 2003.

All plans came to a stop. In early 2004, Val came to me in a dream and told me to turn my life over to God and open up the day care. The rest is history. I opened in December of 2004.

At that time, I had 2 babies - 2 dobermans named Cody and Kato who have passed. Savior, my dog I have now, is a 6 year old rescue dog. Savior has unfortunately been diagnosed with myeloma cancer. I rescued Dobie, another rescue doberman, who passed away on September 29, 2009 at 8 years old. I also have owned a horse, hamsters, and many other animals. I have been trained in pet cpr.

I am also the founder of Teddy's Rescue; a rescue group who fosters transport and saves dogs lives all over the country - even to Canada! I really believe I have found my purpose in life and God has truly blessed me to have a life I truly love."

"Hello my furry friends. It's me, Aunt Tabby. For those of you who may not know me, my name is Tabitha Ellinwood. I have been employed here at the Howl-a-Day Inn as a Daycare employee as well as our groomer. I began my employment here on February 14, 2004.

I have only one dog of my own. She is a 5 year old Mini Pincher/Chahuhua mix. Her name is Libby. Libby traveled all the way here from her home in Texas with my sister Amanda. Libby came to live with me a little over a year ago.

I love all of my furry friends. I enjoy being here to spend time with them. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I take my job very seriously. But I have fun doing it. I couldn't be happier with my job. Thank you, to all of you, who have made this experience possible for me and the babies for so many years. You are the best.

With lots of love, hugs, and sloppy kisses,
Aunt Tabby

"I joined the Howl-a-Day Inn family on June 15, 2005. I worked at a factory for seventeen years and knew there had to be a job more rewarding. I followed my heart and my passion and applied for a job at doggie day care. God answered my prayers when Cindy blessed me with the greatest job ever - a place where you not only meet the nicest people that become like family but you get to love and enjoy all different breeds of dogs who all have their own individual personalities and have their own special place in your heart for always.

Each month I also enjoy writing "Dog of the Month" to celebrate one of our special furry friends. I'm married to my best friend, Steven. We share our home with two furry kids, Ryley, a Cairn Terrier mix and Willow, a year and a half old Yorkie,Thursday, two guinea pigs, KoKo and Holly Berry and two frogs, Cheech and PeeWee.

As of June 19, 2009, we have added another special girl to our family: Thursday, a two year old Cairn Terrier. We adopted her from Teddy's Rescue. She is truly an angel with fur."

"Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love ... they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never places an old dog; it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs, your heart is very big." - Erica Jong

"My name is Kristen Climes and I am 18 years old. I live at home in Findlay with my parents and brother. I graduated in 2007 from Findlay High School. I am currently going to Owens Community College and working towards getting my degree in English with an emphasis on creative writing. Next year I plan on attending the University of Findlay.

I have always had dogs. We have three at home and they are a joy to live with. I became really interested in showing dogs so I joined the 4-H group called K-9 Best Friends and I am still a member there too. I have been involved with 4-H for nine years now. The group I was involved with worked mainly with dogs, although you were encouraged to select other areas of interest too. Through them I got involved with Pilot Dogs as a puppy raiser. I helped train a black lab, who unfortunately was not cut out to be a service dog (but is a wonderful pet as she is now my dog) and a yellow lab, who went on to become a seeing eye dog for a visionally impaired person.

While dogs may seem like my whole life, I am very interested in books, writing, and reading are my passion. I am getting my education and hopefully will start a career as a writer or an editor after I graduate from college.
