Roxie

Roxie is a 4 year old yellow Labrador Retriever. Her proud parents are Marilyn and Richard Dillon. The Dillon's got Roxie from a breeder in Findlay. Roxie's real sister from the same litter, a black Lab named Libby, owned by the Boones, comes to day care also. So even though Roxie and Libby were adopted by different families, they are friends and can play together at day care.

Roxie became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on February 8, 2005. She usually spends a couple afternoons a week with us. Roxie Roo, as we affectionately call her, is a very sweet girl. She's a girlie girl and very independent. She is an absolute tennis ball freak! She will chase a ball all day. Roxie has a lot of furry friends but her play buddies are Poppy, Shister, and Lucy Lu. She also likes Oliver, a Corgi, and lets little Pappini, her Italian friend, pick on her. One of her favorite things to do is hang out in the sunshine.

When Roxie is at home, we are told that she thinks she is part "cat" because when the Dillon's get home, she likes to rub against their legs. She has a "leaf fetish" and likes to eat dried leaves that fall off of the cottonwood tree. When her "daddy" gets up in the morning, Roxie replaces him immediately, even putting her head on his pillow.

Marilyn says Roxie loves her "buddies" at day care. All she has to say is "lets go see your buddies" and Roxie is running to the door and performs her "Happy Dance" turning round and round in a circle. We love Roxie and any day that Roxie comes for an afternoon of fun is a good day for us. Roxie has left her paw print on our hearts forever and that is why she is our "Dog of the Month" for October.

Roxie Roo says:
