Bobby
Bobby is a 5 yr old Shih Tzu. His proud parents are Kim and Harrell Duff. An acquaintance of the Duff's came to their home carrying a 2 lb. surprise in her hand saying "I have something to show you!" Bobby was ten weeks old, barely fit in her hand. The woman said she couldn't keep him and was trying to find him a good home. Of course Harrell fell in love with Bobby immediately .The Duff's had just lost their beloved dog, Charlie Chan, to heaven. So for Bob it was his lucky day – he found his forever family.
Harrell wanted to name him "Buddy" but Kim was not impressed. She knew the little fireball needed something else. So Kim looked up names on the internet and wrote down one hundred names. With a process of elimination they got to two names but still couldn't agree. Then Kim remembered going to Scotland and hearing and reading the story of the little Skye Terrier, Greyfriar's Bobby of Edinburgh who was a loyal and devoted friend to his master, John Gray, even after his master's death. So Kim decided on "Duff's Bobby" for their new best friend.

Bobby became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on January 12, 2007. Bobby comes to day care usually twice a week and brings along his brother Baxter, a Shih Tese mix. In the winter, Bobby usually wears his Michigan "Go Blue" sweater (my personal favorite) and Baxter in his Ohio State sweater – house divided?! Bob doesn't have any best buddies; he just likes to hang with the BIG dogs. He is feisty so he has no problem putting a BIG guy in his place. Bobby and Baxter are never far apart. Sometimes they play and wrestle together. It's adorable. They are best friends.
Bobby is a sweet, happy go lucky little guy. He's very smart and listens very well. Bobby has the BIGGEST eyes, you can't resist and he gets this cute little smirk on his face. So sweet! He loves for us to pick him up and give him hugs and kisses. Of course if you pick up Bob then you have to give Baxter equal time too and we love that. Bobby loves to scratch the ground with his back legs, throwing dirt, grass, leaves, straw, and snow everywhere – so beware of standing behind Bob! He loves sticking his face in the snow too.

The Duff's tell us that Bobby loves to go through Rally classes. When he wants to play, he will slap you with his paw hard on your leg to get your attention. If you are sitting and reading the paper, he will get on your lap and throw himself on the paper to bring it down and drop a toy in your lap. He knows what button on the cars back door to bring the window down. Be careful Bob!! When Bobby doesn't listen or gets into trouble – Kim yells "ROBERT!" and Bobby snaps to attention cause Bob knows Mom means business.

Kim says Bobby loves long walks and visiting people. Bobby likes to keep busy. We all love Bobby and he's very special to us, as in Baxter. They both have their own uniqueness. Bobby has left his special little paw prints on our hearts for always and forever and that is why he is our "Dog of the Month" for March.
Bobby woofs – Wherever you go, whatever you do, may the luck o' the Irish be with you! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
