Buckeye
Buckeye is a 9 year old Golden Retriever. Her proud family are the Romantic's – Tim, Jennifer, Brittany, Logan, and Brock. Buckeye was born in Tiffin, OH. The Romantic's just decided they wanted a dog and knowing Buckeye, it was love at first lick. :D They named their best girl "Buckeye" because the family likes sports and Ohio State is a favorite.
Buckeye became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on March 6, 2007. She comes to visit us about twice a month. Buckeye is the epitome of sweetness - an absolute angel with fur. She loves all her furry friends, but I think she loves ALL of her 'Aunties' the best. Buckeye just hangs out and mingles with everyone. Everyone loves her! For the most part wherever her 'Auntie' is, Buckeye is sure to follow.
She always walks with you, waiting for a rub on the head or a kiss and a hug. What I love most about Buckeye is that she's always smiling. When you look down at her, she is always looking at you with a BIG smile and she's always so happy. I can't imagine having a bad day with Buckeye around. Jennifer said her daughter, Brittany, is always smiling too.
Buckeye is absolutely one of the best mannered dogs that visits day care. I don't remember one time when I have ever had to scold her for anything. She is just a joy. Jennifer tells us that Buckeye has a best friend, Missy, and they have sleepovers together. Sweet! Buckeye likes her chew bones and treats and she likes to chase golf balls.
Buckeye is not completely without her mischievous side. :D She leaves all people food alone at home but one day she was at the neighbor's house and she helped herself to a piece of pizza from a little kid's plate! Sometimes the stomach says yes even though the mind says no. After the pizza was gone, I'm sure Buckeye was very, very, very sorry … Mom?!!?
We love Buckeye, she's the sweetest. Thank you Buckeye for having your mom take you to day care. We always love the time we get to spend with her. Buckeye has left her furry paw prints on our hearts forever and that is why she is the "Dog of the Month" for June.
