Dharma
Dharma is a 3 yr. old chocolate Labrador retriever. Her proud parents are Becky and Ray Baughman. Let me clarify … when Dharma is a GOOD girl, she is Becky and Ray Baughman’s dog, when she is a BAD girl, she is Becky’s dog. The Baughman’s saw an ad in the Courier for Lab puppies. They went to see the puppies and the mom here in Findlay. It was love at first sight.

Becky and Ray got first pick from the litter of eight puppies. She was eight weeks old when they brought her home to meet her big – little sister, Aggie. The little Lab puppy became a part of the Baughman family and blessed with a FOREVER home.

The Baughman’s chose the name Dharma from the TV sitcom, Dharma and Greg, which happens to be one of my favorite shows too. If you have never watched the show, you would know they picked the perfect name for her. She definitely has a “Dharma” personality. Dharma is adorable and goofy and loveable all wrapped in one sweet girl – minus the blonde hair!

Dharma became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on December 8, 2006. She joins us for a play day once a week, usually on Friday. She is usually the first guest to arrive, so Dharma and I get to spend a little time one on one together. She loves to chase tennis balls. Dharma is a tom-boy so she usually picks boys to play with cause they like to rough house like she does. Rowdy Hutson, a boxer, is a favorite friend.

She LOVES to play in the water, whether it be the swimming pool in the summer or the water pan for drinking, in the winter. If you can imagine a big girl like Dharma trying to make an eighteen inch water pan into a swimming pool. That’s one thing I love about dogs, they adapt. They are still happy and still having fun only on a smaller scale. Us humans could take a lesson from our furry friends.
The Baughman’s tell us that Dharma is very outgoing. She doesn’t know a stranger, she loves everybody. Dharma has an adventurous side, she loves to get in trash cans and sneaks food from off the counter tops or anywhere else she can find it. Dharma has a softer side too, she likes to play the lap dog at times. Her favorite play toy at home is a BIG hard plastic ball. Dad usually drops Dharma off for day care on his way to work. She talks to him on the way and tells him she can’t wait to get inside the door.
We all love Dharma and enjoy the time we get to spend with her. She has a happy ‘goofy girl’ personality which makes her a lot of fun to be with. Dharma has left her paw prints on our hearts forever and that is why she is our Dog of the Month for July.
