Sadie
Sadie is a two year old yellow Labrador Retriever. Her proud parents are Robin and Frank Kendrick. The Kendricks had talked about adding another dog to their family and Frank wanted a yellow Lab. So the story goes, they were at the mall, and on a whim, thought if there was a yellow Lab at the petstore they would get one. Well, sure enough, there was a sweet and adorable yellow Lab puppy. She melted their hearts with her greenish eyes, so they knew she was the one.
Now for a name. While Frank was shopping for pet supplies, the name Sadie popped into Robin's head. She told Frank and so they decided, Sadie it would be and the rest is history. Sadie became a part of OUR family and a guest at Day Care on April 18, 2005. She spends three days a week with us. Sadie always greets you with her tail wagging and her body wiggling. She goes between your legs and waits for you to pet and hug her, which we gladly do.
She loves her furry friends with her best friends being Shister, Lucy Lu, Sammy, and Maggie. But at heart, I think she loves HER people the most. When you walk, Sadie is never far behind. Sadie has a LOT of energy. She loves to play with the big blue ball we have here and loves to chase and fetch tennis balls. She is the BEST ball player we have and she ALWAYS brings the ball back to you. She gets tired but never wants to stop, we usually wear out long before she does.
Sadie is very smart and listens well. She knows how to sit, stay, come, down, and "tell me". I can vision Sadie as a human girl. She would probably have freckles, blonde braids, and would always wear a ball cap. She would climb trees and have boo boos on her knees. She'd probably be the only girl playing on a boys soft ball team and she would "kick their butts" and be the BEST player. Go Sadie!!
It has been reported that at home, Sadie loves to play with her sister Bandit, a little terrier mix. She is quite the frisbee player and loves to play with her human brother Brett. She loves to cuddle with mom on the couch forgetting her size sometimes that she's not a lap dog. She loves to go bye bye with her dad. She doesn't like baths, but she will behave for one. Sadie loves stuffed toys, which she tears apart but does not eat. Mom spoils her and gets her a new one every week at the grocery, which Sadie patiently waits for while the groceries are put away.
Miss Sadie is our little Choir Director here at day care. When we all break out into a chorus, Sadie is ALWAYS heard about everyone and lets everybody know that "we're having a howlin' good time here at the Howl-a-Day Inn." Let's give Sadie a big howl for her rendition of "Who let the dogs out!"
Sadie not only has howled her way into our hearts, but she has left her paw prints there too. That's why she's our "Dog of the Month" for January.
