Mia

Mia is a 2 yr. old (cream) Labradoodle. Her proud parents are Alma and David Sylvester. Mia was one of a litter of eleven puppies from Perrysburg, OH. The puppies were all different colors and were given temporary names according to their color. Mia's birth name was 'Goldie.' The Sylvester's got Mia when she was twelve weeks old and her personality was perfect for them. She was a sweet, affectionate and "eager to please" puppy. Mia is a grown up girl now but she is still that same sweet puppy. Everyone who meets her loves her.

The Sylvester's decided to change their new puppy's name. David's secretary had a great chocolate Standard Poodle named 'Mia' who had passed away several years before and David and Alma had always liked the name and it seemed to suit their new girl. I would have to agree, she is definitely a "Mia" not a Goldie. 'Miss' Mia as everyone affectionately calls her, also has a middle name, "Carolina", after Sylvester's retirement destination!! Miss Mia Carolina Sylvester is the pawfect name for a perfect girl.

Miss Mia became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on April 17, 2008. She usually visits us in the afternoons, three or four times a week. We love Miss Mia and Miss Alma. If ever there was a girl and her owner that were perfectly matched, it is Mia and Alma. They are both beautiful and the absolute sweetest. They are both ladies but also girlie-girls and FUN all rolled into one. They are an absolute joy.

Mia loves to play and loves to be with all of her furry friends. She is a very popular girl, very sociable. Some of her favorite play friends are Stella Gazarek, Brodi Harpst, Kaci Henry, Lola Elchert, Achilles Paul, and Sable Bowman. Mia has a lot of energy. She loves to bark and run and wrestle and 'just let her hair down' so to speak. If she were a human girl you could possibly hear her singing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun!!" Sometimes her play time is cut short as she has to get a beauty treatment by her favorite groomer, Aunt Tabby.

The Sylvester's say Mia is gentle, loving prissy, witty, and precocious all at once! She has zero bad habits (okay – two rhinestone sandals were once chewed up and there was the one pair of glasses!) It took her about a month to get use to riding in the car without getting nauseous, but now she loves it, especially top down!! One of Mia's most endearing qualities is that she hates to be separated from them.

On the few occasions when they must leave Mia at home, she perches in the chaise lounge in front of the living room window, her BIG brown eyes watching as their car disappears around the curve in the road. Upon their return, her sweet face is still at the window and her kind eyes twinkle with excitement as the car rolls into the driveway. David and Alma say that Mia is one of their greatest blessings!

All of Mia's Aunties absolutely love sweet Mia and her and her family is truly a blessing to all that know and love them. To celebrate Valentine's Day we couldn't think of a sweeter girl to be our Valentine. Miss Mia has left her paw prints on our hearts forever and that is why she is our "Dog of the Month" for February.

Miss Mia wishes (woofs) everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. I will be your Valentine – if you will be mine?! Arf-arf!
