Oliver

Oliver Stuart is a 4 year old Welsh Pembroke Corgi. His proud parent is Marsha Reis. Oliver had a somewhat uncertain start to his life. Marsha’s co-worker has an aunt that is a Corgi breeder that had some Corgi puppies at the pet store. He was a pet store puppy that nobody wanted. Her co-worker agreed to take him, but he travels so much so he sent an email with pictures to see if anybody wanted him.

It was love at first sight. Marsha thought he was adorable and it broke her heart to know he had gone from place to place. So Oliver got a new mom and his forever home. Bless Marsha’s heart. Marsha decided to name her new baby boy Oliver Stuart, befitting a gentleman whose kin reside with the Queen of England.

Oliver became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on April 21, 2006. He usually visits day care about three days a week. When Oliver arrives, we try to hustle him outside to go potty. Go Oliver Go - - YEAH Good Boy. Oliver is one of our early guests so he usually greets his furry friends arriving by standing at the gated fence and barking – Hello, Good Morning!

Oliver is true to his breed - stubborn and opinionated. Oliver usually has A LOT to say. Oliver isn’t much for playing; mostly he just likes to hang out. His nemesis is Madison Wilson, a tiny three pound Yorkie who loves to yap into Oliver’s ear and who he tries to ignore with little success as Miss Madison is pretty persistent. Oliver also likes Libby Ellinwood, Tabby’s little Chihuahua mix. Rumor has it; Oliver has a crush – AWE Oliver.

Haven’t noticed that Oliver is really one for the pool, unless you give him a boost in. He prefers to hang out pool side, probably babe watching. Oliver is kind of shy in a sweet boyish way so the girl would have to make the first move. Oliver does LOVE to stand IN the water pan, even in the winter!? Not sure what that is about??!

Oliver is our “bathroom buddy.” When any of us go to the bathroom, Oliver has to come in the bathroom or wait diligently for you by the door. Marsha tells us that the highlight of Oliver’s day, besides day care of course, is feeding time. He does a hilarious “dance” when he sees Marsha headed his way with his food bowl. When Oliver runs he looks like a rabbit from the back, which is why he is known as “bunny butts!”

But Marsha says MOST of all he just LOVES people. They have recently begun going to Riverbend Dog Park together and he doesn’t give two hoots about the dogs. He’s just super excited to see all of those people!! We are super excited when Oliver comes in to visit us at day care. Oliver is a sweet, sweet boy that has left his paw prints on our hearts forever and that is why he is our “Dog of the Month” for August. We LOVE YOU Oliver.

Oliver wants to remind everyone to be a responsible pet owner and have your dog or cat spayed or neutered. Woof!!
