Greta

Greta is a one year old boxer. Her proud parents are Jeremiah and Heather Lackey. A neighbor that works with Jeremiah had boxer puppies for sale. The Lackey's had driven by a few times and remarked how cute they were. They decided to go over and look at the puppies, but didn't really think they wanted a dog at that time. They went home, talked it over, and decided that having a puppy might be fun after all.

Jeremiah and Heather went back and asked if they could take a puppy home on a "try out" to see if it got along with the family cats. As we now know, everything worked out for good and the "try out" became a forever home for the little nine week old boxer puppy we now know as Greta.

Greta became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on October 11, 2006. She spends mostly half days with us almost daily and sometimes WE are treated to a full day to spend with Miss Greta. She is fun, loving, and has a lot of energy. She's always on the move. She has completed puppy kindergarten and elementary. She listens very well.

Greta is a very popular girl, she has a lot of furry friends. Her favorite playmates are her little Italian friend, Pappini, two labradoodles, Annie and Grace, Miss Maggie Moo, our Weimaraner, Little Winston, a miniature schnauzer, and our friend Chavez, a bull terrier. Her best friends are Buddy and Kaiser. Her main squeeze is our BIG loveable st. bernard, Doogie.

It has been reported to us that Greta loves to come to day care. When asked if she wants to go to day care to play with her friends, she perks up and sits by the door waiting. When mom and Greta are in the car on their way to day care, she sits nicely and looks out the window or even lays on the seat. But as soon as Heather turns the corner and goes over the railroad tracks, she gets all excited because she knows exactly where she is going.

Greta is very well behaved for mom but when her dad gets home from work, she becomes wild woman and runs all over the house to collect her toys. Her nickname is "Greta Bean" because she starts kidney beaning anytime someone pays attention to her. She loves to sit on dad's lap. Her favorite spot is when he's sitting in the video rocker in the living room.

Greta became a big sister to her new baby brother. We would like to say congratulations to Jeremiah and Heather on the birth of their new baby boy on July 17. Unfortunately for us, Greta and family are relocating at the end of August. Greta will become a little Southern belle from Georgia. We will really miss Greta and we hope she will be able to come back and visit us.

We hope Greta will never forget all her friends and family at Howl-a-Day Inn as we will never forget Greta. She has left her paw prints on our hearts and that is why she is our "Dog of the Month" for August. We love you Greta, always and forever.
