Howl-a-Day Inn.com Dog of the Month > April 2009

Yksuh

Yksuh is an 8 year old Siberian Husky. His proud parents are Dave Crosser and Angela Crist. Dave and Angela adopted Yksuh from a Siberian Husky and Pomeranian breeder in Dayton, Ohio. She raised show dogs and gave the dogs that she couldn’t show to families wanting pretty dogs for pets. Yksuh fits that description; he is definitely a handsome fellow.

I love Yksuh’s name. It is very unique, just like Yksuh. The name Yksuh is “Husky” spelled backwards and pronounced “Yeek-sa”. Dave chose the name years before Yksuh was around. Dave said he always wanted a Husky and when he got one, wanted to name him Yksuh. Baby Yksuh was actually Dave’s Christmas present from Angela. So Yksuh had a name before he was even born! That makes Yksuh extra special.

Yksuh became a guest at day care and part of OUR family on September 28, 2005. Yksuh usually visits day care about once a month and brings along his brother Killian, who is also a Husky, to enjoy the day. Yksuh spends his time mingling with all of his furry friends and Killian is usually close by. Yksuh loves to be outside with all of the wonderful smells just doing his own thing and hanging out.

Dave and Angela tell us that Yksuh hates squeaky toys and will tear anything with a squeaker to shreds in a matter of minutes. He likes to howl at sirens and loves it when his family joins him for a good ol’ howl. AaHhhOOooo! They think “voice” sounds a lot like Clint Eastwood because he is very feisty and smarmy.

Yksuh loves to ride in the car. When Yksuh is feeling a little naughty and a bit adventurous, he gets out of the fence. He always runs down the sidewalks and turns at the crosswalks. The best way to catch him is to pull the car up near him and open the door. Yksuh says “what’s life without a little adventure?”

We love you, Yksuh, you are a very special friend. When you come in and join us for a day of fun, in the tradition of Clint Eastwood, “you make our day!” You have left your paw prints on our hearts forever and always and that is why you are our “Dog of the Month” for April.

Yksuh wishes everyone a Blessed and Happy Easter
